A couple of quick cards to show you…

<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>
It was my mother and father-in-law’s wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I’d whip them up a quick card…<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>this was super fast and easy AND it gave me a great excuse to break out my new Deep Edge Garden Trellis punch by Martha Stewart which I purchased from the wonderful Joanna Sheen for the brilliant price of £15.99 inc P&P – and that really is a bargain, cos this punch is HEAVY!  And I truly love this punch. I will be breaking it out in a video tutorial soon I’m sure =)

I also used a bunch of my flower punches to build a few custom flowers using patterned paper and some plain vellum. The sentiment is from a set I have fallen in love with called Jane’s Script by Woodware – it’s a very cute handwritten font, which is delicate enough for just about any card, but strong enough not to be overwhelmed by a relatively simple design.

This next card clashes somewhat with the first card – and was sent to the mother-in-law on the same day (eek) – but I just wanted to use some really bright colours with the Hero Arts CLINGS Antique Brocade stamp I got recently as the main focal point. Super simple card, but packs an eyeful of punch, lol! And not a corner rounder in sight; a rarity for me.

I’ll be back with a video tutorial soon. Just had a lovely weekend away with the girls – my friend Liz treated us to a night at a luxury hotel, with a spa facility, which was absolute bliss. So I couldn’t do any card making this weekend, but for once I wasn’t complaining! Although I did manage to squeeze in a quick trip to the craft fair at the NEC yesterday…so some new gizmos and products will be appearing in my next videos. Bye for now!

Spring…has sprung!

<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>It’s a few days later than I planned for this to go up – but I’ve been having some major issues rendering my videos on my laptop. It does NOT like HD, whereas I cannot get enough of it. So we are currently not speaking, me and my pc. Darn thing, grr.
<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>However, it still great for using digi stamps with, so it’s not all bad =)
I’ve never made a ‘Spring’ card before, but the weather has been far nicer of late and has put me in a very Spring-like mood, so this year I thought I’d give one a go.

I’ve used the Springtime Birds Digital Stamps set by Cocoa Studios from MyGrafico and this is a very cute stamp set. springtimebirdsstampsprevI love the other stamps in this set too, especially the bird with the flower in its mouth – so darn sweet =)

So many different cards to be made with this set. I’ve printed it out on Core-dinations Whitewash cardstock, because the ink doesn’t smudge one iota even when using alcohol inks to colour in the images. Alternatively, you could paper-piece and print on patterned paper, or prepare any cardstock using clear matte gel medium acrylic paint before printing. This gives you time to hit the design with clear e.p. before the printer ink dries, sealing your design ready for smudge-free colouring.

As usual the video is below. Please head over to my YT Channel to rate & subscribe. I do hope you enjoy watching! Do leave a comment if you wish – I always love hearing from you all!

Happy Mother’s Day – Shabby Chic Flowers

<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>
Hi – this is my Mother’s Day card design for this year. And for something new, I have made a batch of them to sell…so if you want to get your hands on one, there are a few for sale at my Etsy Shop.

<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630> For this week, I’ll be posting them out as soon as they’re sold to any UK customers to ensure you get them in time to post yourselves to your Mum’s for Mother’s Day this coming Sunday. And to all you USA prospective customers, you’ll be super-organised and well in time for Mother’s Day, which is Sunday 9th May this year!

Depending on how successful this new venture is, I intend to sell more of my work in the future. As much as I love making cards for video tutorials for you all to see, I need some way of maintaining this without making me bankrupt! So I’m just trying this out, to see where it takes me. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Whether you want to buy anything or not, I hope you continue to enjoy my tutorials and projects =)

<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630> The flowers on this card have been handmade by using a paper scraper by Making Memories, then scrunched up and lightly sanded to create the shabby chic effect. They’ve been worked so much the paper has almost a suede feel to it…very tactile! The bottom of the card is made out of vellum with the sentiment embossed in brown ink. The colour scheme is very Spring-like and reflects my mood and the weather here in Leicester when I made them! ;0)

I have filmed the making of this card and it’s in the pipeline…so please check back in the next few days to see the video tutorial once I’ve edited and uploaded it =) Video below…

Bye for now!
